When the house is unoccupied, its security is monitored by five outdoor cameras. Additionally, we use a camera to gather power usage remotely from the electric meter. Naturally, we want to ensure the privacy of guests when the house is occupied. Prior to arrival of guests, we will remotely activate “privacy mode,” which causes the articulated cameras to turn and face away. This blocks all sound and video capture.
For non-articulated cameras, we will remotely power them off. The red or blue lights on the front will turn off, indicating that we have powered them off and they are no longer capturing video or sound.
